Haifa- Demolished house in Wadi Saleeb - (Valley of the Cross)-neighborhood

Wadi Saleeb was established near the old city walls of Haifa in 1761, shortly after modern Haifa had been established by Daher el Omar. The neighborhood was populated by Muslim and Christian Arabs.
During the war 1948, about 60,000 Arabs were evacuated from their homes in Haifa and were not permitted to return, as most of the buildings of Wadi Saleeb that belong to Palestinian refugees were confiscated under the Absentee Property Law. The 3,5 00 Arabs remaining in the city, where concentrated in the nearby neighborhood of Wadi Nisnas, and forbidden to live in other parts of the city until the 60th .
Between the 60th and the 90th, the municipality and for political reason, demolished most of the buildings of Wadi Saleeb neighborhood in order to eliminate a central part of the Arab history and Architecture culture. Today only a few buildings exist.
The building showing in the sketch is no more exists!
