Biografia

Miesha Shih is an aspiring cultural critic and curator of modern and contemporary art. She enjoys working with art in all its dynamic forms, innovations and voices, and is particularly interested in the space where artistic disciplines intersect cross-culturally and engage social meaning. Miesha has held curatorial fellowships at museums such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago where she worked on a range of projects from assisting with large-scale, collection-based exhibitions on modern artists like Picasso and Matisse to curating smaller project-based exhibitions on emerging artists whose works include performance, video, installation and crafts. She is currently a freelance writer for the Guggenheim Museum's Collection Online where she's contributed essays on artists such as Ryan McGinley, Hank Willis Thomas, Anish Kapoor, Lewis Baltz and Leslie Hewitt. Miesha received her undergraduate degree in African American Studies and Art History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her graduate degree in Art History from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.
