Al-Tiba9 International Exhibition of Contemporary Art, is an exhibition that plays with the impossible where complexity equates with the simplicity and organic to the actual can "be". Simplifying is not reducing because with some letters we can write an infinity of stories.
An exhibition curated by Collectif Asswad Mo' Mohamed Benhadj and Mazia Djab. It is an artistic collective which the approach is to seize in a particular and intuitive way the social reality. Asswad's Method consists of creating an interface between art and the society. For this reason the collective established an urban dialectic, this was created by artistic actions that took place in public spaces. It does not impel giving answers but in fact it is a question of giving the interrogations, an affirmation.
After the success of the 4th edition, it is great enthusiasm that Al-Tiba9 International Exhibition of Contemporary Art announces; for this year, the 5th edition of Al-Tiba9 in Barcelona, June 10th 2017 and in Algiers September 30th 2017.
The 5th edition of Al-Tiba9 exhibit this year, has as theme :

Addressing a reflection about the transgression remains today still difficult, because it is often perceived negatively, as destruction. Yet it would be fairer to say that breaking the ban is a deconstruction but also a reappropriation of a reality that seems obsolete for reconstruction. This disorder, this episodic chaos seems to be necessary by its positive side but especially appropriate to seek its meaning because the transgression certainly allows access to new forms, to a new order without "CONCERN" of its meaning and its founder character, We could fear an uncontrollable violence.
Arab Thinkers and poets have all highlighted the evidence of the paradox of a thought before to incorporate the reconciliation of opposites (Ibn Arabi, Abu Nawas, Al Allaj); In the other part, the West side Heraclitus, Nicolas de Cus, Kant emphasized the complexity of being, his aporetic side, dualism's end: the turbulence takes part of humanity; chaos is creative. "Transgression is at the heart of any act establishing a tradition or custom.
That is why we must take this expression of a creative imagination at work."

This exhibit will host many artists, photographers, performers and creatives worldwide without limits of age or techniques. Works should contain an exciting and profond mix of contemporary languages and fit into Al-Tiba9 perspectives.
The 5th edition of Al-Tiba9 will also take place at MAMA Museum of Modern Art in Algiers, Algeria end of September 2017.
Once selected by the Al-Tiba9 jury. The entire event is free to the general public. And as an emerging or established artist, you are exposed to an incredible amount of art world visibility and press, at this acclaimed independent art fair in Spain and Algeria.
The 5th edition is a LIVE exhibition, Performance and Digital art, selected works will be performed live during the exhibition's opening ceremony.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK:
• Artists can submit one or many works. Please send us up to 3 direct links to video and/or up to 5 JPG images, your bio, CV and statement. Please email them to : designer.motion@gmail.com with Subject : “AL-Tiba9 2017 APPLICATION”, at any time until the deadline : 12:00pm (GMT) 15th April 2017.
• All application need to be in English or FRENCH
• Applications can be made either by proposal for new work, existing work or a combination of both.
• Contact details and supporting information must be provided through the same application. Only one application is permitted. The closing date and time for receipt of all proposals is 12pm (GMT) 30 April 2017. Proposals received after this time will not be accepted..
• Al-Tiba9 team will review and contact all the artists passing to the second selection. A non-refundable handling fee of €20 must be paid in order to complete the application process to the second selection. The applications that do not passed to the first selection will not pay the application fee and they will be informed by email. Al-Tiba9 is a not-for-profit organization and it is a corators collective. Handling fees cover the administration costs involved in operating the Open Call and organizing the event.
