The Anna Cheyne Visual Art Award aims to support the development of local artists through the purchase of new public artwork for an innovative Lisburn City Art Collection, housed at the Council’s Civic Centre at Lagan Vallery Island in Lisburn. The Award is jointly funded by Lisburn City Council and Lisburn Arts Advisory Committee.
The judging panel is made up of representatives from Lisburn City Council, Lisburn Arts Advisory Committee and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Submissions are judged according to the general criteria of: creativity, innovation, quality and professionalism.
The Anna Cheyne Visual Art Award is a bi-annual competition in memory of and acknowleding the achievements of Northern Irish Artist Anna Cheyne (1926-2002).
