From 28. 9. 2018 until 7. 10. 2018 Marlen Peix, Elisabeth Rass and Herwig Maria Stark will show artworks on the topic “Licht und Dunkel” at Kunstsalon 5, Josef-Jägerhuber-Strasse 5, 1st Floor, 82319 Starnberg, Germany.
Without light, we would not know that there is darkness. Making the darkness visible makes the light visible itself. Art lives from the game with light and darkness, whereby the working out through a skilled interplay and visualization can also express an existential or psychic darkness.

In photography often, the light-dark contrast in its most extreme form is understood as "black-and-white contrast". The fact that light and dark also include a wider range in photography will be shown through the work of the two photo artists Marlen Peix and Elisabeth Rass.
MARLEN PEIX transforms everyday objects into new image compositions of light and dark by using the latest technologies and digital editing techniques. Since 2008, the experimental pictorial compositions of the German photo artist have been seen in many international exhibitions in China, Germany, Italy, France, Austria, South Korea and the USA. Her experimental photographic works have already been awarded and are represented in private and public collections.
ELISABETH RASS shows in her, predominantly analogue, photographs a wide range and playful interplay of light and dark. Her tools are light and shadows, moments captured with great passion. Since 2010 numerous national and international exhibitions. Some of the works of the Austrian photo artist are represented in private and public collections.
The play with light and dark creates a sculptural impression in painting and serves to accentuate forms and corporeality. How much this game of uncolored colors creates tension will be shown by the visual artist Herwig Maria Stark in his portraits.
HERWIG MARIA STARK portrays a world of illusions in a sobering way, carrying images of familiar intimacy that reveal the deep-rooted discomfort of an entire generation or, in general, "of man in his being". Since 1998 international exhibition activity, the works of the Austrian designer and visual artist have received several international awards and are represented in many private and public collections.

Marlen Peix, Elisabeth Rass and Herwig Maria Stark are members of Biennale Austria – Verein zur Förderung zeitgenössischer KünstlerInnen based in Vienna/Austria.
