'Progress' Full Circle - The full story:

At the beginning, whatever that may mean to each of us in terms of how it came about, there was a simple vibrational blip. The circle with the black dot is the first single cell or seed of life, this steadily builds up to express the progress of man within the context of his own vibrational impact on the earth and the rules and conventions that governed that progress, be it social, political, artistic, peaceful, benevolent, violent or other.
The dense area represents the height of western industrial revolution and the resulting consequences of materialism and consumerism since WW2 that have been driven by the rapid advancement of global technology and freedom of information. That has been our 'Progress' and it's brought us to an earth buckling under the strain of our needs and wants. Is that the kind of 'progress' we want. The conclusion of that is up to us all. What comes after the question mark, 2012, earth shattering meteors, climate meltdown after which those that survive just start again from the very beginning.......? or worse, does nothing change after the question mark?
We live in an answer-needy, answer-rich society, but who’s prepared to ask the difficult questions?

Flat Lines
Flat lining across the paper
I paint my warning
A silent alarm bell is ringing
A crescendo of matted noise cocoons us
We are blinded by magic trickery, colour and light
We are drunk on the need for speed, aggression and want
And our pleasures and struggles
Like subliminal orders
Make us deaf to the cries of our platform, our very cradle
But our finely balanced plinth from which we so proudly and concretely progress
Is buckling under the strain of our ignorance and commitments
Trapped in our own fixed lines of self-assuredness and false certainty we plough on regardless
Rapidly descending the eternal spiral
How long will it take for us to remember, in that slow, plummeting moment before blackness,
that we can in fact swim if we allow time to permit us

A flatline is an electrical time sequence measurement that shows no activity and therefore when represented, shows a flat line instead of a moving one. It almost always refers to either a flatlined electrocardiogram, where the heart shows no electrical activity, or to a flat electroencephalogram, in which the brain shows no electrical activity
