Monochrome

‘Monochrome’ will feature an eclectic mix of sculpture, paintings and photography.
The Brick Lane Gallery will be showcasing stone, steel, resin and bronze casts created by Wayne Markwort. Wayne's work is based on modernist figurative principles, inspired by Manga and Anime and hours spent in the British Museum and collections all over the world. Ana Kala will be displaying oil paintings which depict an array of biomorphic associative elements (resembling single-celled organisms) as well as motives that one can associate with microcosmic organic landscapes.

Expect to view descriptive imagery captured by Elizabeth James, a photographer looking for the interesting in the ordinary. Elizabeth describes that she loves the way black and white blends together and the varying shades and tones in the spectrum and enjoys looking for reflections, texture, line and form. Pam Weinstock’s work is rooted in a playful exploration of femininity. The series of burlesque figures is partly provocative and partly mischievously humorous.

Look forward to paintings by Henrietta Sophia Wallace Dunlop that capture the atmosphere of old black and white films, raw emotion and austere romanticism; her paintings are about mood ,human fragility ,persecution and social injustice. As a documentary photographer Eva Wardi prefers shaping the still world as a narrative, much like in film, the narrative providing an individual possibility to complete in with personal reason.

View detailed works by Adele Wagstaff who focuses on the observed and is inspired by the figure and everyday objects found around us. Adele has previously exhibited work at the BP Portrait Award at NPG.

With eclectic influences ranging from ancient Japanese art to street art and comics, Brazilian artist Bailon creates a unique visual language. Bailon seeks to give life to imagination using his drawing and painting skills.

‘Monochrome’ will also feature new works by Mario Ucci and Emiliano Bernardini.
