Fu Wenjun was the only Chinese artist shown at International Art Fair Warsaw 2016. It was also the first time for the artist to present his conceptual photography works in Poland. For this especially meaningful occasion, Fu selected some artworks with featured Chinese cultural and philosophic elements, which are presented with imaginary forms and colours. He says, “in my works I express with something seems to belong to one culture and society, but the philosophy behind these forms, colours, figures is to present something in common in our globalizing world. In the process of globalization, the communication and the fusion of different culture is an inevitable process. In my works, you can find something Eastern, but at the same time something Western, something you are familiar and something strange to you, but they all can coexist in a harmonious and beautiful way. Everyone from different parts of the world can understand my identical conceptual photography work, but just in a different way. All understanding is acceptable.”
Regarding the artistic creation thinking, Fu Wenjun concerns most about the culture issues. He thinks the culture is directly related to the human beings and the times; no matter the classic culture or the present culture, only they relate us, they worth our profound study. He has also clearly realized that all history in the world developing to the present time is a global process lasting hundreds of years. In this process, the cultures are enormously influenced, because no one has a stable formality, each one is under reconstruction by the interaction with the others.
