By theatre, performance, video, text and object Reetu Sattar’s work navigate through memory, loss and resilience. Her works are time based. She finds the ephemerality of existence through ephemeral form of work.

Reetu enquires between the clashes between forms like theatre acting and performance art. Where the both resemble or overlap each other. Through performance Reetu try to navigate through the chasm between two close mediums of body and ego. She enjoys her journey of transition between performance and theatre. So the works are consciously away from theatrical practice but it adds voice, conversations, sound, props, costume and sculptural elements as spontaneous necessity.

Born in Dhaka, Reetu works and lives in the city. In 2014, she exhibited at the Dhaka Art Summit, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy; 1134: Lives Not Numbers, an exhibition dedicated to the lost garment workers of Bangladesh, at Pathshala South Asian Media Academy; and the 16th Asian Art Biennale, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The following year, she exhibited at 1 sq mile, Forashgonj Orphanange, Old Dhaka, and the National Art Exhibition, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. In Last year Reetu exhibited at Aminul Islam Award Open Studio, Bengal Foundation Visual Arts, 17th Asian Art Biennale, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Random-A Group Exhibition at Britto and Bengal Performance Art Week.
