Biografia
Pippa Possible [b. Santa Cruz, United States, 1980; Portland and Chicago-based] studied studio art at School of the Art Institute of Chicago [SAIC, BFA 2010]. She is a practicing interdisciplinary, time-based artist, often creating collaborative, performance-based works in sculptural, video, and audio installation. Activating appropriated materials, which are borrowed from a day-to-day context, Possible engages everyday objects in reference to memory. Time and memory are common motifs. Her studio work has been exhibited at Galerie Califia / ArtMill [Czech Republic], North View Gallery [PCC Sylvania, PDX] and Musee 16 [Los Angeles, PDX]. Her time-based work has been performed and screened in the Chicago Underground Film Festival, Onion City Experimental Film Festival [Chi.] SAIC Undergraduate Film Festival [Chi.] Galerie Califia / ArtMill [Czech Republic], Tannery Arts Center: Art As Experience [Santa Cruz, Ca.], Gene Siskel Film Center [Chi.], Nightingale Theater [Chi.], Chicago Underground Film Festival, Onion City Experimental Film Festival, SAIC Undergraduate Film Festival, Disjecta, and Performance Works NorthWest [PDX]. Possible currently lives and works in Portland.
