Biografia

Sarah Murfitt works with various forms like photography, sculpture installations, sound and blend of medias. "Looking and Seeing" is a reoccurring theme in her work. A general response in finding what is around you. Another project she has created is the use of ‘Light and Perspective,’ whereby she has developed a photo series and a set of sculpture installations.

Some of her projects have surrealist elements with futuristic and imaginative material. Furthermore she has grown to favor video based work such as the work ‘Time Goes to Fast’ an identity and portraiture based piece; Artist Edward Picot has locally exhibited this video. Sarah Murfitt followed education through school and college and is now studying Art and Contemporary Design BA/Hons at Writtle College, where she is to graduate next year.

Sarah likes to take a simple concept and push it as far as she can go, doing so lets you see things in ways you would never imagine. Pushing limits is not a new thing when it comes to being a freelance artist but she believes helps you mature and grow, though she may feel uncomfortable she wants to push boundaries and experiment with an array of ideas. Another class of art she is passionate about is teaching, and always would want to go furthering her career in helping others bring life to their imagination. Her working is predominantly independent but would never turn down collaborating with other fellow artists.
