Forward thinking Artist Jamie Ashman graduated from Central Saint Martins with a degree in Fashion Design. For a number of years he worked in the World of Fashion; as a Trend Predictor and Fashion Design Tutor. While at Art School Jamie realised that his passion was for painting and now focus’s full time on Art; expressing ideas about culture and identity, gender and entertainment. His paintings fulfil a desire to further immortalise the glamour and edginess of some of the people who have shaped the C20 and C21 through their work andcreativity. They are mainly of people who identify the spirit of the times that evolve in each era. Beautifully coloured; he paints SuperStars from modern history and refers to Warhol’s interest in popular Art, fame and celebrity. The style and content of Jamie’s Oil paintings are a reaction to the many Art movements of the past.
