Biografia
Michelle Williams Gamaker (1979) is an artist working broadly with performance and complex renderings of reality via documentary, fiction and video installations. Her current projects, Violet Culbo is in development with Film London (FLAMIN) and The Fruit is There to be Eaten is a post-colonial, post-romantic exploration of the female protagonists of British directors Powell & Pressburger scheduled for 2017 at the BFI.
For over 10 years, together with Mieke Bal (Cinema Suitcase) Williams Gamaker has completed several films and installations, their latest: Madame B explores the emotional complexities of Capitalism and gender ideology.
Williams Gamaker is also a part-time Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Kingston University and Lecturer in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
