Biografia
The stages of my life have been south-east Africa and north-west Europe. I was born in Maputo in 1982 and moved to Holland in 1991. I studied Fine Arts at the Royal Academy in the Hague before I re-migrated to Maputo and have been living here for over a year now.
The border between art and life is an illusion or a stage where I can dance for freedom. My work strives to touch on the social subconscious (or ‘Zeitgeist’) and is heavily influenced by the two stages or loci. Over the years the core of my practice has morphed into an independent artistic research concerning non-normative knowledge of the Anthropos. In a conversation I usually say, tongue in cheeky, that it is Wisdom of the Universe and the Truth of the Anthropos for the Nations of Gaia. The media and methods used form a framework that can be (and mostly are) labelled as photography, video and drawing.
