Biografia
Historically my work has positioned the ubiquitous nature of found materials with the complexities of the human psyche. The intention was to subjectively 'wring' love, loss, desperation, melancholy, memory, mortality and nostalgia from the common objects through context and through language. By attaching titles, which directed the viewer toward poetic interpretation, a simple object with slight manipulation could unlock a storehouse of emotional content.
The arc of my current work stems from a desire to access the depth and resonance of human emotion by way of surpassing the rigidity of the found object. To both actualize the impermanence of living and to allow for the ascension of the mundane.
