Sharon Read is a Fine Artist based in the county of Northamptonshire UK. Her practice works around her on going and personal philosophy and inquiry in connection to the ever changing interstitial spaces within mind and body.
Both the physical exteriors as well as the interior emotional and spiritual capacities come into question as an investigation takes place using her own body and mind as a point of departure. Her work questions the nature of physiological states that to a certain extent disempower the ordinary daily rituals.
The intimate narrative and internal dialogue that is at the heart of the work often transcends to a quiet and poetical visual analogue of a disquietness. The intention is often not for a brief view but to feel the human connection, to experience what might allude to intrusion and even loss. There is the subtle requirement of attention to be invested from the viewer in order to discover revealing traces of disruption of the material and healing. A process undertaken to highlight a consistency of war on the physical and emotional elements of the self, trapped in a continuous cycle of battle and woundings healed, exposed and re healed.
