Biografia
'Frozen gestures' occupy Emma Roche’s work where paint becomes support, surface and medium all at once. Playing with learned structures and tradition, she is often concerned with forcing painting through processes where its conventional materials can function (or more accurately dysfunction) as a three dimensional thing.
Roche was born in Dublin and currently lives and works in Co. Wexford, Ireland. She holds an MA in Visual Arts Practices from the Institute of Art Design and Technology and a BA in Fine Art Painting from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. She has shown widely in Ireland and the UK.
