One of my favorite episodes from the apocalyptic book ‘in the country of last things’, written by Paul Auster, tells us the story of Ferdinand, A man whose occupation is to create ships inside bottles out of small waste materials
he finds. As materials around become fewer and smaller, his ship models are becoming smaller just as well, being built out of bones of tiny animals he finds around. Ferdinand then declares his longtime wish to create the small- est ship in the whole world. So small
it would be invisible. I have always felt strong empathy to Ferdinand’s fascina- tion with the invisible, the intangible. Inner worlds that exist just as much as they don’t, so fragile and transparent,
it is this tension between existence and void that I am passionate about, the source of my desire for creating jewelry. To me, jewelry is worlds in miniature, microcosm of ideas, personal narratives and stories been told.
