Biografia

Chris Kirby is a British documentary, portrait and editorial photographer. He explores in an environmental, humanistic and socio-historical sense, peoples relationship with where/how they live, work, or play.

Chris started taking photographs in the 1950's - and he's still very much at it! Admitted to Kingston College of Art & Design in the 60s, he later studied for a diploma in journalism from the British College of Journalism - and currently writes articles about contemporary photography.

Chris has photographed in many countries of the world, and he's undertaken projects especially in Europe and Africa (he considers Africa as his second home and is perhaps best known for his Africa portfolios).

His photography has been published in magazines and international media including: the Financial Times, Daily Express - and regionally in the Eastern Daily Press. He has worked for charities: including BBC Children in Need.

Chris Kirby's photography has been exhibited in the UK - and has won several international awards, the most recent being Urban Photographer of the Year, 2015 and honourable mentions with the IPA Int'l Photography Awards 2015.

He lives in Norfolk, United Kingdom and welcomes hearing from anyone who would like to chat about his work.
