Biografia
My artistic endeavors focus on photographing endangered wildlife in remote regions of the World and digitally integrating these threatened species into New York City scenes in an attempt to bring a fresh perspective that highlights the urgency for greater conservation of our wildlife. In an ever increasingly globalized World that threatens their existence, my work begs the question, “if we cannot save these animals in their own habitats, where can they be safe?” In absurdity, there is clarity, and therein lies the approach with which I pursue my artistry. My photographic journeys have taken me to remote places such as the pack-ice in the Arctic for polar bears, the volcano region of Rwanda for gorillas, the Island of South Georgia for Wandering albatrosses, the jungles of Borneo for orangutans, the Hokkaido region of Japan for rare Red-crowned cranes, and the northern islands of Svalbard for walruses. By heightening the absurdity in depicting these animals having to find refuge in Manhattan, I hope to help further the efforts underway to protect them.
