Biografia
Leigh Suh was born in Seoul and lives and works in London. Suh mines territories of architecture, space and memory. She investigates the notion of distance, seeing and not being able to see, and movement and stillness. The artist uses sculpture, drawings and paintings to fabricate an installation. She intervenes in various media and makes small models to express the process. Various “room” models are controlled remotely – a small moving object that bumps into the viewer to invite reciprocal movement and playfulness. By doing so she engages in a playful dialogue relating to the diversion of size, and what it means to be in a space. Sometimes this challenges our perceptions, deliberately turning them upside down.
