My body of work encapsulates my increasing interest in the transitory; in creating experiences that only have a limited lifespan, of which the only evidence that remains is the impression that the viewer is left with. Reduced to their most fundamental features and core self-expression, the works showcase repetition and iteration. This also illustrates my disbelief in observing materials and situations that claim to have a static existence, both physically and mentally.
I am constantly on the lookout for situations, locations, objects and sayings that hold a tension, driven by the conflicts found in the personal and the everyday. The notions of transition and ephemerality intrigue me when exploring the relationship people have with each other and with nature, the environment and the universe. This contradiction between the need to predict, control and protect ourselves from the inevitable and the longing for illusions, mysteries and magic is the essence of human nature and at the core of my work.
