Biografia
Spanish lawyer and photographer. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1971. She is living now in southeastern France.
She grew up in Venezuela, where during many years, she practiced surf and travelled especially in Central America and the Caribbean. She also enjoyed outdoors sports like Rock-Climbing and Mountain Bike. She graduated BA in Law in 1993 in Caracas. The same year she moved to Madrid, Spain; where she made two years of PhD studies in Information Law at the Complutense University. Karina worked there as a freelance lawyer, specialized in Contracts and Real Estate transactions. While she lived in Spain, she travelled extensively in various European countries, enjoyed the discovery of foreign cultures in Middle East, Africa. In 2004 she took advantage of a Sabbatical year in Asia and Australia. In 2005 she relocated in Mexico City and in 2007, she moved again to São Paulo, Brazil, where she lived until early 2014.
Amateur photographer since childhood, she was formed in 2012 by the Panamericana Arts School in São Paulo, major in Photography. Since 2008 she participated to several Photography Workshops with spanish & brazilian specialists of nature, surfing, humanist, landscapes, underwater, flash, lighting, portrait, documentary, photojournalism, photoshop, lightroom, authorial processes, analog processes, cyanotype, pinhole, and National Geographic Experience. Since 2012 she participated in a several shows, collectives exhibitions and fairs of art; her pictures were awarded in international contests.
Currently she has several projects. In 2012 she began, the project named "MirArte" ("Look at yourself") which portrays women who fight against the breast cancer. This project pretends to bring Photography to these men and women who pass through the process of discovery and treatment of breast cancer. She loves outdoors and nature Photography, sports, travels and people. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese, French and a bit of English. Karina is developing now her website.

- Winner in Self Portrait Category Non Professional, in the 7th Pollux Award 2015 in UK and finalist in four other categories: Fine Art, Landscapes and Seascapes, Animals and Wildlife and Digital manipulation.
- Finalist in the 7th Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers 2015 in UK, in 6 categories: Still Life and Abstractions, Invisible Woman, Landscapes and Seascapes, Nude and Figure, Portraits and Self Portrait.
- Honorable mention winner in the anual contest PX3 - Paris Photography Prize 2015." category Press/Other_PJ.
- Honorable mention winner in the WHITE contest PX3 - Paris Photography Prize 2015.
- Mention with Honours in the contest "Singular and plural Feminine Universe 2015", City Coincil Camaçari, Bahía, Brasil.
- Seven awards in the annual contest PX3 - Paris Photography Prize 2014. 5 recognized series, 6 medals in several categories (1 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze) and 1 Mention with Honours.

- Gold and silver medals for two photographs of "Gallery Photographica" in San Francisco, California, USA, 2013.
Solo exhibitions
- Multi-installation Rosa Valente (Brave rose), selection of videos and 46 pictures was exposed of the "Mirate" (look at yourself Project), which intended to employ art to fight breast cáncer. Photos of more than 500 persons who invited the booth were taken. Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2013, Sesc Bom Retiro, São Paulo, Brazil.
