I am deeply interested in the world around me. LIFE.
The world is an amazing canvas of colors, textures, light, moods and feelings. Nature and man-made nature coexist, as well as, independently. There is so much meaning that can be find within each square inch of land that covers our earth. For every inch, something has crossed that path and left it’s mark.
My aim is to create images that seamlessly bring together the natural and man-made nature around us, enhance the color and bring an organic, abstract reality to each piece. I attempt to expose the color and beauty of our world to the canvas from moments frozen by the photographs from which they were taken. My paintings are from authentic photographs, taken from stock-free sites, photos I have taken, or from photographers that have provided me permission to use their work as a backdrop. The images are digitally enhanced, manipulated and then used as a skeletal map while I begin the painting process. In no way do I recreate the image exactly.
