Since 2002, my artworks have been focused on the deconstructive representation of women's "Ero", or women's pure eroticism. The word "Ero" means erotic or hot in Japanese slang. It has negative and cultural meanings. Generally, Japanese people are ashamed of erotic feelings. Using the word "Ero" is a representative of shame and neglect of women.
For me, "Ero" is something outside of a routine lifestyle, and it means women's pleasure, warmth, boldness and intelligence.
In my works, I deconstruct the medley of fantasies, rules and misunderstandings that surround women and restrictions of their experience of ecstasy. Women should be free from these the restrictions and allowed to experience pure ecstasy. At the moment of ecstasy, women can see strange eccentric images, feel the energy of life and understand the meaning of living things. Matter and mind blend together and become metaphorical objects. These objects shape the mystery of life and freedom of mind. Formless bodies have sinuous shapes and resemble plants or cells. Their shapes will change depending on the eyes of those who are looking at it.
