" ..Anche per noi, come per i surrealisti, il fine ultimo è la liberazione dello spirito e di tutto ciò che è affine ad esso, quindi vale a dire anche del corpo."

Marianna Di Palma, an artist born in Termoli on 24th June 1982. During the years she followed her artistic vocation nourished a strong interest in abstract art. In 2004 she enrolled at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna and devoted herself to painting and photography, creating a dimension attentive to the dream and the unconsciousness. She creates
images of a dynamic global interconnectedness and oneness that belong to life. As symbols they convey a deeper meaning and purpose than their surface function. This reality is the dimension of the soul which all previous cultures understood as being our central to human existence. Marianna is a very eclectic artist who experiments a wide range of materials to create her artwork with different techniques, believing that art is subjective; when creating art her main purpose is to invoke feeling and emotion in the observer. As regards the picture she is not limited to photography itself, like something hanging in a living room, but she creates a non-objective reality that she uses to call "Tricks of living bodies" that are extreme examples of contemporary identity. Characters are the basic structure of the her works: figures rich of loneliness and pathos. The sign becomes a narrative of physiognomy upset that tends to border on sublime poetic, sparking tension of the body between the self and the self-observer.
