Biografia

My photography refers to the notion of identity by exploring social, semantic and political demarcations of space. Within my current practice I have been exploring notions of how expectation of action relate. Within my work I seek to mobilise debates surrounding how a sense of self is generated, fostered, maintained or abandoned. How everyday encounters raise issues of identity and ownership, regulation and control. Through my practice I aim to highlight ideas of aesthetics, whilst questioning the photograph as an exponent of empirical truth. Drawing from a succession of interwoven strands to explore how space may affect the emotional and ideological concerns of its users.
