Biografia
Automatism is how I generate marks and Pareidolia is the phenomenon I utilise to conjure images from them. This image generating system is primarily applied to drawing, and then the drawings and the rules that govern them expand and combine into other media; sculpture, performance, painting, body painting, moving image- the possibilities are endless and enabled by adhering to the logic of drawing.
Within my drawings numerous narratives co-exist and by operating simultaneously they discourage the viewer to align with any one perspective and instead they are encouraged to see a series of fragments that collectively represent the whole, the I, whom I see as fragmented, a product of contemporary society.
By intuitively expanding my drawings into mixed media the resulting heterogeneous compositions have come to reflect biographical diversity and display influences of both high and low culture, analogue and digital techniques.
