Biography
Ile Stefi (b. 1969) calibrates her series of work in raw materials experimenting – metal, soil, cellulose and oil&acrylic paintings, in a continuous search of the creative "Ethos". A graduate of the National University of Art in Bucharest(2008) and the Polytechnic University of Bucharest(1993), Ile Stefi commits to a tactile and tense visuality. These can be seen in both the set of guitar-strings made works( Acoustic, 2012) as well as in her recent approaches with pre-figurative elements. Her feelings, emotions, past experiences and as well as her way to perceive the materials of reality, are condensed into a creative process which then spreads in visual living objects, themselves being capable of accessing and redefining the thin boundary between the perceived and experienced reality.
