Biography

I am interested in the role pictures take in our lives.
And I don`t believe in the existence of new pictures.

I believe that we only reproduce the more or less same concepts over and over again in pictures. We fill these concepts with individual faces, and this way, connect them to our life.

Indeed it is necessary that pictures belong to a certain concept, so that they can actually really take a role and meaning in our life. We can make use of pictures only if they represent a certain concept or genre ( e.g. family pictures).

My work examines the connection between this concept manifestation and our perception - especially knowing that we always try to extract meaning by trying to understand context or extrapolating it from a picture itself.

On base of my hypothesis, that there is no new pictures, I do use already existing pictures predominately as base of my work. This is true for material as well as imaginative pictures.
