Biography
Sio Montera, (b. Dennis E. Montera) is a visual artist from Cebu in the southern region of the Philippine archipelago. His body of work is non-representational in style and its meaning is derived from the context of the artist's identity in connection to life experiences in an island economy. The artist predominantly works with acrylics on canvas brought about by surface build-up and addition-by-substraction methods that result in compositions that are either gesture-filled or color-expanse abstractions. The artist obtained his MFA from the University of the Philippines and his PH.D. in Creative Industries Design from National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan.
