Biography
My multi-disciplinary works address the way objects can create disambiguation and break down language and representation. I fabricate found objects into sculptures, paintings, photographs, and sound within larger environments that are lit much like objects to be photographed. My practice takes on an alchemical process of distilling the symbolic representation of these objects into messengers of liminal spaces. Ultimately, these liminal spaces are experienced by the viewer as light and shadow, object and image, sound and silence. Many of the pieces I create exist in series of sculptures and paintings that comprise a larger installation, such as “Balloons” or “Cenotaph.”
