SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Francesca Cristin, born in 1984 in Palmanova,Italy. She is an artist and photographer; studied graphic art at the Academy of Arts, Venice where she first began to become aware of herself as an artist. In 2010 she began her artistic career through the medium of photography, mainly using analogue technique, working on various projects looking at the relationship between herself and her own body.
Nowadays her work is focused on women and the bodies of women and in particular on the external internal relationship to their surroundings and their emotions. The use of words and voices is an integral part of her art; often laid out like a personal diary and woven in with her own words or those of whom she is working with, and expressed through audio visual installations or video performances; moments where words become sounds.
She has extended her artistic experience through Land Art installations and gained experience in photographic set building, working together with both photographers and designers, and has, in fact, worked on scenes for a number of short films. Other than photography and graphic design she has taken an interest in furnishing and design and is at present working in the Friuli region as a business image consultant as well as organiser of cultural and artistic events.
