Biography
Vincenza Benedetto was born in Scilla on February, the 26th, 1973. She graduates at the “Accademia di Belle Arti” of Reggio Calabria in 1995 after the artistic degree (section: architecture). In 1994 she does her first solo exhibition “Armonia Mediterranea”. She goes from oil colours to acrylic colours, from watercolours on paper and canvas, to the engraving. In 1997 she moves to Milan, where she works in the stage design, realizing stages for television and advertising.
She devotes herself to the study of colours and the chiaroscuro and tones changing; she portrays the seasons following one another, and the day that becomes night. In the Summer 2008 begins the works cycle “Frammenti di terra e cielo”, on where the artist realizes a set of abstract visions, landscapes that she paints in an expressionist vision, glancing at the exterior reality but basically looking at the interior reality.
She lives and works in Milan.
