Biography

Roberto Carlocchia, artist and graphic designer, is born in 1949 in Potenza Picena (MC), where he lives and works. After the graduation he attended the course in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti of Macerata under the guidance of Remo Brindisi. An artistic period lived, between the sixties and eighties, with the creation of many paintings and the participation in local and national exhibitions with the interest of the critic and public success.
In the late ‘70s, in addition to painting, he began his professional career in graphic design with experience in prepress techniques, offset printing, screen and digital printing and then also in advertising. In 1994 he obtained the qualification of Technical Advertising professional as a copywriter in the creative.
Today, however, is mainly returned to devote himself primarily to the artistic activity by developing many new projects in the field of painting with new and interesting works, which have been successful in his personal retrospective exhibition “All the colors of utopia” and subsequent exhibitions in important galleries and prestigious national and foreign art venues.
His paintings are projects, illusions and visual metaphors, between fantasy and reality. Always, style and design in subjects of his works keep alive the curiosity and the desire to imagine the world with different optics, deliberately surreal and very innovative. Symbolic and conceptual art where the messages in his paintings are often infused with an unmistakable desire for positive, generated from their emotional feelings and irrepressible force stressed by the use of color.
