Biography
The artist's practice combines a personal fixation with the manipulation of analogue (or ‘linear’) technology with a sense of Self. This concern originated with the visual representation of his transgender-identity, documented through film, but has since shifted towards his personhood, existence and presence away from a physical body.
Sparking from a desire to play with, fix up and ‘tinker’ with electronic equipment, particularly camcorders and CRT televisions, his projects often result in a respective on-screen moving image or film which is contained within the bodily structure of an analogue monitor. A recent project uses 8mm cassettes to document a series of attempts to make personal contact with extra-terrestrial beings.
