Biography
Shira Klasmer is a London based artist interlinking the mediums of photography, moving-image and performance. Born in Israel, she has been resident in London since 1990 and has graduated from the Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and Chelsea College of Art and Design.
Shira has exhibited internationally, her works are also in private collections and has been published in numerous magazines, to name some; Israeli Museum, Israel (2012), Roundhouse, London (2011), Invideo 2010 Video Art festival, Italy, Gallery 39 for Contemporary Art, Israel (2010), and Zabladowicz Collection, London (2009). Shira has been involved in collaborative art projects with artist Gabriel Klasmer, sound artist Tom Tlalim and Flock Dance company.
She has also recently completed a dance photography book 'The Lost Rite' in collaboration with dance historians and choreographers Millicent Hodson and Kenneth Archer.
