Biography
Bearömixx indeed is a word expressing all of my work. Bearömixx is both an artistic endeavor and style that expresses and creates the face of a bear depicted using circles and simple shapes and lines in a planar and 3D fashion, but, beyond that, in all kinds of media. It expresses a variety of emotions and ideas from daily life by combining the face of an expressionless bear created using circles as well as simple shapes and lines with charcoal, pastel, acrylic, paint, pen, ink, newsprint, craft paper, canvas, board, woodchips, ceramic, computer and limitless numbers of other materials. It was coined to express the multiple ways bear is used in mixed media. Ö expresses the shape of a bear.
I was heavily influenced by designs from the 1970’s like Japan’s homegrown Kawaii culture, animism, Bauhaus, Swiss design and Psychedelic which I studied from my background as a graphic designer, while the latest graphic designs are the source of my ideas even today. Merging design concepts and fine art expressions is the basis of the Bearömixx expression, bringing the keyword mix here to life.
The face of a bear, the core of the method of expression, is also a positive part of myself, and is often unpredictable because they manifest both consciously and unconsciously. However, these also accurately express my concepts, ideas and specific emotions of any given day.
Bearömixx, simply put, is a world where various media, materials, ideas, methods of expression and culture are mixed together through a bear. This is my art.
