Biography
Please who aims to be interested in our works do not ask money to participate in art competitions or to exhibit in galleries. Thanks anyway, but we are not interested. Welcome all others.
We are two artists: Enrico Aliprandi and Gabriele Bulgarelli, alias TRACES OF THE SEA. Our works are assembled sculptures made of materials recovered in the beaches: plastic, glass, iron, wood and all that the sea returns after the man has abandoned. We're interested in the objects or fragments of them who, with their history of use and consumption, a narrative not easy to read, as time erodes the materials and makes them unrecognizable. Our quest is to save them and give a new identity to these materials, and embody the characters in ironic, poetic, dramatic: our visionary imagination. We started to express ourselves with these materials three years ago, realizing numbers cribs and securing contracts in 2012 the second prize at the National Art cribs held in Bologna. Later we explored new materials, including organic, such as sea sponges that become dancers, bones that turn into faces, architectures or abstract art.
