Biography

I graduated in Communications Science at the University of studies of Perugia, Italy faculty of Art and Philosophy. My final project analysed traditional animation and computer graphics and drew comparisons between techniques which were common to both media. Over the course of this five years at the university I was given the opportunity to study various subjects such as: Visual Anthropology, General Computer Science, English Language, General psychology, sociolinguistics, Contemporary History, Political Economy, Public Law, semiotics, sociology of communication, theories and techniques of mass communication, cultural anthropology, anthropology and theater, visual communication, aesthetics, Iconography and Iconology, test composition, theories and techniques of journalistic language, history of journalism, history of contemporary philosophy, theories and techniques of new media, theories and techniques of film language, theories and techniques of radio and television, theories and techniques of advertising, marketing, methodology and techniques of social research, comics, animation and virtual life.
I was also able to trace the evolution of new media as an answer to growing social and technological demands and advancements. During this time I continued to work and paint using traditional media techniques.

In 2001/2002, my second year at the university, I took a painting course at the Academy of Fine Arts of Perugia. One of the main topics was the relationship between paintings and music. The music I listened to whilst painting formed crucial stimulus to the paintings I created. I enjoyed the course and I worked hard to do practical experiments drawing and painting while listening to different kinds of music. My theory is that music has a major influence on the creativity and technique employed by the artist. I believe that music can increase human creativity. I did experiments with classical music, medieval music, jazz, electronic music, satanic music, rock, minimal music and lyrical music.

In 2006 and 2007 I was living in Barcelona, Spain where I studied illustration at the FemArt school.

In 2008/2010 I studied a BTEC in Interactive use of Media in Brighton, Uk, the main topics studied were: audio production processes and techniques and sound in interactive media.

In 2011/2012 I studied a second level MA in Traditional and Digital Animation at the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo, the subjets studied are: Story and Screenplay (Tino Caspanello), History of animation (Andrea Martignoni), Production and Distribution (Giovanni Massa), Drawing for animation (Luca Pulvirenti), Animation Techniques (Yann Jouette, Isabella Pucinska), STORYBOARD and LAYOUT (Raul Monaje) Motion Grafics and Compositing (Gianluca Scuderi), Introduction to animated image (Ignacio Meneu), ACTING FOR ANIMATION (Miguel Ortega Vidal), Sound Design (Stefano Zorzanello), DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY (GIL ALKABETZ) EXPERIMENTAL Animation TECHNIQUES (HERNANDEZ MARIA LORENZO ), VIDEO EDITING (MARCO BATTAGLIA).
