Biography
Lolana is a painter and printmaker living and working in London. Her work was exhibited in solo shows at The Houses of Parliament, London in 2013 and 2014. She has had a number of exhibitions and has also produced commissions and studio work. Her paintings are in private collections worldwide.
Lolana explores symbolic concepts using a variety of media such as oil, acrylic, collage and intaglio technique in creating her own unique art and distinct variable edition prints. Her influences are many. In printmaking the greatest fascination were and still are Rembrandt's prints and etchings. The Surrealism fantasy and Expressionism subjectivity are influences too and, to a greater extent, contemporary Magic Realism. Her work is praised for its powerful expressiveness and for conveying a profound emotional story. An accomplished musician, she has studied piano from the age of eight.
