Biography

Born in 1982 a proud member of an artistic family Annie spend most of her childhood living up and down the eastern side of Australia before settling back in her birth town of Canberra during her teens. She obtained a Certificate IV in Graphic Design at Canberra Institute of Technology, then went on to complete a Bachelor of Visual Arts Degree majoring in painting and printmaking at the Australian National University School of Art in 2004. Moving to Melbourne with her husband in 2006 to find inspiration and a fresh start Annie has been exhibiting in both group and solo shows all over Melbourne. They are paintings, drawings and now collage, address the intimate journey of all aspects of the self; identity, body image, spiritual awakening. After having her daughter Annie made a natural progression into collage and these have become the most important and powerful works to date. They encompass humour, tenderness, loss and darkness. The experience of the birthing process and beyond that has made her re-evaluate her practice, some of these new works being exhibited in Charity Art Auctions and Exhibitions raising awareness of mental health, and the public health system here in Australia and Overseas. In 2001, she has been focusing her attention on two ongoing series: Rabbit Holes and Peep Show. These works are created using digital technologies to create photo collage and then printed on paper. She also completed a Masters Program in Art History and Curatorial Studies in 2002, all while living with and treating a spinal injury.
Annies works belong in private collections all over Australia and the UK, owned by art collectors and creatives. She is represented by fYRE Gallery, Braidwood, NSW.
