Biography
Luca Manes has worked as a video-artist since 2004. He graduated in Editing from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome.
His videos have been shown in numerous exhibitions, festivals and events. At the same time, he has edited movies and documentaries for cinema and television.
As a video-artist, he is interested in representing time, space and reality in various ways. He usually rejects the mise-en-scene. He argues that the camera should be “hidden” in order to capture and analyse scenes of ordinary life.
He chooses a language based on the obliteration of space-time references with the objective of creating and exploring different layers of perception, which are more complex than the simple reality.
