Biography
Mark Parkinson an Artist born in Preston, Lancashire, England in 1964, grew up on inner city housing estates(housing projects) of the same period, his work is heavily influenced by this period of his life, the daily grind of being part of and living amongst what was considered the underclass of British society, his work does not deal directly with this subject matter but alludes to it through the sense of loss that is evident within his work, romanticism an almost optimistic outlook for the future, but ever aware of a search for identity and meaning within today’s British culture.
