Biography
My name is Kaja Mihajlović and I was born in Ljubljana on the 14th of August 1987. Currently I’m working on bachelor’s degree in nursing studies. Before that I graduated from painting with excellence from University of Ljubljana, Academy of Fine Arts and Design. In the past few years (three and a half) I didn’t actively participate in the field of art, as I spent most of my time in hospitals, where I was either working or on practice. Nevertheless, I try to be creative in every moment I can. Because of this gap I try not to hold on to a medium, therefore I try to speak where I can with vocabulary I poses at that specific moment, even though sometimes what I say makes no sense to others. Therefore my medium can be photography, video, collage or other days just my choice of style for the day, my choice of clothing. I always wanted to be different, to be an artist and apparently now, as a healthcare worker in the healthcare system, I am the most of an artist I can be or I could ever imagine. My colleagues at work always refer to me as ”our little artist”, so I guess it is a dream come true. Besides as Yayoi Kusama said it, art lead her out of the walls of hospitals and through art she made herself part of the society.
