Biography

Born in 1954 in Sicily, in the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento and Selinunte, always interested in the Naturalism drive, the artist has worked persistently to the thresholds disciplinary boundaries, in a sort of happy and fertile contamination poetry centered on the given design and utopian started previously in Como by artists of great interest as Antonio Sant'Elia, Francesco Somaini, and Ico Parisi.

Artist and Critic of Contemporary Art, wrote essays and reviews of: Kengiro Azuma, Francis Bacon, Paul Barrile, Carlo Carra, Marc Chagall, Jean Dubuffet, French Franc, Antonio Freiles, Max Huber, Paul Scirpa, Giuliano Mauri, Gabriele Jardini , Osvaldo Licini, Ruggero Maggi, Kazimir Malevich, Mattia Moreni, Idetoshi Nagasawa, Emil Nolde, Mimmo Paladino, Pino Pascali, Mario Raciti, Roberto Sienese Francesco Somaini, Chaim Soutine, Graham Sutherland, Jorrit Tornquist, Willy Varlin, Wols Vincenzo and Nucci , Omar Galliani and important interviews with contemporary artists such as Ruggero Maggi, Paolo and Francesco Scirpa Somaini.

He has coordinated since 1996 the exhibition activities Space Media Image of Turate (CO) with solo and group exhibitions by important contemporary artists.

Professor of History of Art, lived from 1977 to 2002 in the province of Como. He currently lives in Salerno and directs the "SPACE OPHEN VIRTUAL ART GALLERY" and the "BONGIANI ART MUSEUM".
