Biography

Ezio Cicciarella was born on 22nd September 1976 in Vittoria, a small town in the south of Italy.
When he was a child, more than the school desk, he was attracted by open spaces, construction sites and his father’s tools who was a craftman.
He is soon interested in some building construction and restoration techniques, gouge and inlay works.
As he grows up, the longing for knowledge, links and experiences increase leading him to continuous journeys in Italy and abroad. Because of his anxiety and dissatisfaction, he is always looking for the quid which may gratify him and feel him completely fulfilled. So that, around 2001 he started to perform his first sculptures, even though he was not aware to have discovered the muse yet, which will give sense to his life later.
Finally in 2008 the match turning point: among many difficulties, he decides to open his own laboratory in the centre of Vittoria for devoting himself to his art completely, by which he is totally fascinated.
Ever since he starts to create a wide series of works developing his own style and improving his own art continuously.
In the meantime he reads and talks about art extending his links network even to high personalities such as Franco Sarnari and Vittorio Sgarbi. A long and demanding course which leads him to Venice Biennale in 2012.
In the same year he prepares a show room in Cavour Street, a few steps away from his laboratory where he keeps on performing his works.

"Sculpture - he says - lighted my life up, but it requires an unconditioned commitment, some courage and endless sacrifices".
