City gave its inspiration as she see it as a place that has been built by men inside nature; but, at the same time, it‘s a place that has been built against nature.
In fact, there we can find a strong contrast between nature and civilization.
Taking the place of nature, the city becomes a new environment both for people living there and for animals, as they have to adapt to a new kind of habitat.
A typical feature in the pictures of Katarina Balunova is the house as a symbol of the journey of life. Nevertheless, it also gives peace to human beings and it‘s considered as something that can stop movement, a kind of sentimental cage. So the house can represent an environment, a city-house, a family house and a cage-house.
