Biography

Temporary Museum’s project creator is Domenico Pellegrino; it is produced by Bquadro Communication & Events. It is a contemporary art museum and it was inaugurated within the fifteenth century San Mattia’s Church, in Torremuzza street in Palermo, within the Kalsa district and it is near Abatellis Museum. Temporary Museum is well integrated to museums’ tourist industry. On July 2011 it was moved in the excellent context of Steri’s historical structure, in Marina Square.
Temporary Museum is a Sicilian place of excellence, it is considered a privileged observation point of the most interesting artistic works; it gathers up a lot of artistic projects that can involve the local artistic community; it mediates between the national and international realities.
Temporary Museum chooses the locations, for the art exhibition, according to particular characteristics. Usually, the places chosen by the Museum are: public authority and no longer used buildings that can be used as contemporary art exhibitions thanks to their architecture or their structure.
Bquadro Communication & Events looks after the recovery plans of these places thanks to co-operation of others corporations and they set the exhibitions ad hoc, they give back to the city and to the artists new artistic spaces.
During this 4 years the two exhibitions have proved our initial hypothesis that is the needs of the City are new areas and new efforts. We have arranged seven big exhibitions, we have contributed to the project with three national art galleries and a cultural institute abroad; we have involved 80 national and international artists, we have drawn the attention of more than 5000 spectators and we have obtained a positive judgment of the critics.
