Biography
Massimo Basile, Maxtin, born in Turin 1975 .
After a short period in Turin, he moved to Lucania where he has spend most of his youth. But soon, his cosmopolitan spirit has pushed him to overcome the narrow border of his region and those of Italy and it brought Maxtin first in London, where he has spent five years, to Strasbourg and than to Spain in search of stimulus to study, to extend and to apply his Art . In fact, staying in major cities has influenced the Art of Maxtin whose training is not occurred in acadenies or schools of painting that could effect his artistic production, forcing him into shapes and techniques already existing and well definied, but rather an autodidact . His Autodidattism, however, gave a personal Art conception that is expressed in Maxtin "uniqueness" of the techinique that brings his paintings toi the favor of the people. Geomart, that's now Maxtin loves to enclose and define the characteristics of his art. Geomart is characterized by geometric lines, shininess and 3D forms, that seems to transform the painting in sculptures that makes his style unique, unmistakable and simply unambiguous . The perfect mix of geometric shapes and warm colors seems to animate the acrylic enamel, giving life to the subjects of the painting that the artist draw from classic mithology ( Zeus & Hera ) from the sport ( Regata ) and from the feeling ( It's Time of Love ) reflecting the vision of the reality, moods and interests "of the Hand" that gave them shape and made them live. Maxtin currently lives in Switzerland where in 2011 he has joined the Association of Painter and
Sculptors from Ticino .
